Society based on Equality

Casteism, this is very important topic. I am one of the person who has been victim of this mentality.
As you guys might be knowing, I like roaming around and exploring new places.
Sometime back we went for trek to Kalsubai. We reached base village in evening. The base village has two sets of huts. I thought people who want to stay near main road are staying in one group and other in other group.
But reality was a bit different. The people are not separated based on their thinking but they are divided based on their caste. And very disturbing thing is that a well is allotted to so called low caste people which was dried up. And higher caste people have two bore wells which has ample amount of water. And those low caste people are not allowed to take water from those bore wells but animals are. Are those low caste people less important than those animals? Even Shri Ram ate sweet berries which were prior tasted by Shabri who belonged to non touchable caste.
I really do not think caste is a matter. If it is, why they allowed us to drink water from those bore well when they were not knowing which caste we belong to? Then what is the issue? I think we all were superior to them by financial sense and they cannot challenge that. That is why they accepted us.
Only those upper caste people are not responsible for the castesim. I think all the people living in the village and people including me, who know this, are responsible.
I think many people here reading this blog agree that division of people based on caste is wrong. But how many are ready to stand against this?
Consider a scenario, you have girlfriend or boyfriend and your parents are against this relationship because of his or her caste. What will be your decision? I have seen these cases many times. And unfortunately in almost all cases relationship never reached the destination of marriage. Why? Why cannot you stand on your decision which you think is right? When Arjuna asked Krishna how can I fight against my beloved and family members?, Krishna replied "remember what you are doing is right and they are standing in your path. You are doing your duty."
One of my friend replied these questions, while discussion, that we all also have duties towards our parents. I definitely agree. But who is asking you not to perform those duties?
Even someone told me that we will teach lesson of equality to our next generation. If you can bend now, what is the guarantee that you won't at that time. And why should one worry about the things which are not in one's hand, when he or she can act on things which are in hand.
Those who really wants to make this society based on equality, have to think in that way and try to convince others.
Remember, you, me and every person in our contact form this society.
